Witchy Mishap! 🧙

Updated: Oct 21, 2021

Accompanied by renowned Irish Spiritual Healer John Flanagan I trekked across Dartmoor in a light drizzle on a quest to visit the legendary Sacred Druid’s Grove at Wistman’s Wood.

Such a peaceful, magical place! A grove of ancient oaks where we sat in quiet meditation.

Before heading back to Glastonbury I harvested some of the oak moss hanging in abundance from the branches of the oaks & Rowan berries for a Protection Charm imbued with energy of this sacred space.

Stashing my magical harvest carefully in my rucksack, I expressed regret that I’d not brought an offering for the trees. ‘You’ve brought yourself, that’s enough’ said John, who always seems to know exactly the right thing to say in any situation! So, I gave thanks to the trees for their bounty & headed home.

There followed a 6hrs drive back to Kent with little petrol & no chance of getting any with every petrol station displaying ‘no fuel’ signs due to the current panic buying scenario & getting lost on the M25 when my SatNav inexplicably decided to take me on a scenic tour of Uxbridge, Middlesex (definitely not recommended)!

I finally got home at 6am & threw my muddy rucksack & jacket into the washing machine on a 40 degree wash!

It wasn’t until the following day that I remembered my precious Oak Moss from the Sacred Grove! Miraculously it survived its wash cycle & has even retained the wonderful earthy smell of the oak grove! So relieved! It’s a long way back to Dartmoor to get more!

Should you visit the West Country, I recommend seeking out John Flanagan, who I’ve known for over 20 years. Originally from Sligo, Ireland, he is based in Glastonbury where he runs Divine Light Sacred Tours, a healing practise & Airbnb accommodation. Together we have traversed the West of England visiting many sacred sites! 100% recommended!
